Up for acquisition is an absolutely pristine, museum-grade archival specimen of a definitive mid-90s indie-rock milestone: the original 1996 vinyl first pressing of Ain't My Lookout by Memphis lo-fi icons The Grifters. This rare release was issued through a joint licensing venture between Shangri-La Records and Sub Pop Records (Catalog: SP 341 / Shangri-La 017). Serving as their highly anticipated fourth studio album, Ain't My Lookout represents a massive, historic turning point in the band's catalog. Moving out of the muddy four-track basement tape hiss of their early career, this record highlights their transition into a beautifully un-muddled, heavy 1970s bass-driven rock stomp. It features complex studio arrangements captured at the legendary Easley McCain Recording studios. The tracking order includes cult alternative hits like "Covered With Flies", "Parting Shot", and "Radio City Suicide". The gorgeous front and rear jacket layouts feature the unmistakable, whimsical underground comic book artwork of Jim Woodring. This copy is a true time-capsule piece that has survived in flawless, unplayed condition. Release & Manufacturing Identifiers:
