Matrix - SBPG 63683 AI / SBPG 63683 BI

Evolving from The Knack, The Gun were a late 1960s rock band, best known for top ten single “Race with the Devil”. The band featured Guitarist/vocalist Paul Gurvitz his brother Adrian Gurvitz and drummer Louie Farrell.

Summary: Nice copy of this rare, nay scare 1969 second album from The Gun. Sleeve, no major issues, no rips, splits, or tears, minimum corner rub only. Clean labels. Good solid audio, no pips, pops, jumps or sticks, plays clean. Graded solid EX.

Sleeve: Non-laminated sleeve, no major issues. All edges and spine lie flat, light corner rub only, no rips, splits, tears or writing. Great condition given age - see photos, graded EX, EX- at worse.

Label: Classic CBS orange label. Minimum signs of use, nice condition, graded EX (see photos).

Inner sleeve: Original promotional inner sleeve with creases.

Vinyl: Retains a nice sheen, closer inspection (under light) shows a couple of marks and a few (very, very few) light wispy lines only, primarily made by sleeve removal – nothing that interferes with playback whatsoever, graded EX.

Audio: Plays through with no major problems: Clear audio S1 and S2 plays EX, no pips, pops, jumps or sticks. Feint light dust crackle between tracks S2 only (played on a Project carbon - blue 2M Ortofon).

I have tried to be honest and transparent in my description - the photographs form part of the description. Questions are welcome, don't hesitate to ask. I have good feedback (and positive comments) as both a buyer and seller, so you can buy with confidence. I have been a collector for 48+ years buying and selling records over the years to feed my changing music habits. The few records I sell are either the results of upgrades, duplicates or a bit of thinning every now and again. If anything is not as expected, please contact me straight away and I will do everything to resolve any problems without argument.

I strictly adhere to the Record Collector Magazine's Grading Guide using one + or - as an additional guide:

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. ….

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing…..

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable. …

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
