Description

This is the original 1969 UK issue with the rough orange CBS labels, the earliest A-1 B-1 matrices & the A-1 A-2 stampers of the original 1st pressings.

This is the second Gun album originally recorded at IBC & Trident Studios in London during August/September and released in November 1969. The band had been formed by brothers Adrian & Paul Curtis (Gurvitz) as the Knack in 1965 and in 1967 recorded several singles. They changed their name to 'The Gun' in early 1968 and with Louie Farrell on drums signed to CBS, recording the single 'Race With The Devil' and their first album 'Gun' was Roger Dean's first album cover. Their second album 'Gunsight' was designed by Hipgnosis and has four band members shown, but only three are credited..... the band split up in 1970, but reformed in 1971 as Three Man Army....

The Shorepak front laminated sleeve is intact & in EX condition, with some very light corner/edge wear and some light laminate rubbing/creasing on the front cover, with some light storage rubbing and a long scuff on the rear cover. The spine is intact and fully readable, the CBS company inner is intact & in VG+ condition.

  The record is in visually EX+ condition, with only a couple of faint & wispy hairlines visible on each side that do not affect play. The labels are in EX+ condition, clean & bright with evidence of one or two faint spindle markings on each side.   The sound reproduction is EX+, still clear & precise throughout with no loud pops, hiss or crackle & definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some very low, brief background noise during the run in grooves.
Overall, a really great, loud & clear listen.  

The matrix nos. are; SPBG-63686, A-1 mother stamper A-1, B-1 mother stamper A-2.
This is one of the earliest copies of the original 1969 UK stereo issue of this album!
