Description
Here is the Holy Grail of Rolling Stones picture sleeves, it's "Beast of Burden" on Rolling Stones Records RS 19309 from 1978. This is a genuine, authentic picture sleeve that I obtained from someone who was an associate of the printing plant in 1978 that printed these sleeves. That plant also printed the other Rolling Stones and Beatles picture sleeves and LP covers. They did a lot of other printing, too, including the infamous Beatles butcher covers!
Included here is the promotional 45 record for "Beast of Burden," which I happened to also have.
The picture sleeve is perfect! It is NOT a copy or a reprint. There is no writing or stickers or rips or labels or creases or tears or even "wrinkles." It is perfect! It lies perfectly flat. It has never had a record in it, so there is no "ring wear" of any kind. Apparently after printing a few of these sleeves, someone felt that a lion sitting on a woman's 'middle' was too raunchy for a 45 sleeve (especially if it was a male lion!). And so the sleeve was withdrawn and never used with the Stones' latest 45 single.
(I also understand that there is another Rolling Stones Holy Grail picture sleeve and that would be the one for "Street Fighting Man.)
As I mentioned, I have had this in my collection all these 47 years and now I feel that it is time that another Stones fan should have this unique item in their collection.
This item will be double boxed for protection. The item will be shipped so that only the person winning it here on Ebay will be able to receive it and that person will have to show their own photo ID.
