The Halfway House Dance Orchestra on Okeh 40318
Tracks: "Pussy Cat Rag/Barataria".
Year: 1925
Up for auction is one of the hottest, as well as one of the rarest New Orleans jazz records. Recorded on one of Okeh's field recording trips to NOLA on 1/22/1925, this record features some of the last clarinet performances recorded by Leon Roppolo, as well as cornet playing by Abbie Brunies and others. A great jazz masterpiece.
Condition: "Pussy Cat Rag" is a very strong and clear playing V. "Barataria" is the same, but it has several rough spots that start at 6 seconds into the recording and sound occasionally until right before Roppolo's clarinet solo. However, all of the music is there and for me it has always been an enjoyable listen despite this.
Shipping: USPS Priority Mail. I pack well.
Returns: NOT Accepted
