Description

An original 1st press of HISTORY on the Island label from 1972. Matrix 2/3/3/4. Etching "Porky/Pecko". The vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover with rosette. Also included are both generic white patent no's inner sleves. So, 100% complete and 100% genuine.
Vinyl (Ex+) In great condition and have only seen light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of light marks. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback with only one deviation. Intros and inbetweens are practically silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. This really is a very fine player and the original owner clearly looked after his/her records. Very nice clean audio across four sides - which is imperative with Fairport. My only criticism is in 'Fotheringay' - there's a few light ticks. But other than that we're talking about a very fine and impressive rendition.
Cover (Ex/Ex+) Very very difficult to find in anything like this kind of condition. Lovely clean front and back without ageing or marking. There is a touch of residue in the top-right corner where the rosette resides. I'll leave it up to the buyer whether they wish to re-glue it or attach it. The interior pages are all intact and still attached Most surprisingly is the condition of these pages as they often suffer from ageing and or foxing. On this copy they are absolutely pristine looking and haven't been heavily thumbed. Edge wear is very light for this title and the spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inners (Ex) very little ageing and no splits.
