Description

Up for sale is the original 1977 soundtrack LP from the Rankin/Bass animated production of The Hobbit, released on Disneyland Records, catalog #3819 (Storyteller series). Based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s classic novel. This copy comes complete with the original 12-page full-color illustrated booklet — the key insert that most copies are missing.

Starring Orson Bean, Richard Boone, John Huston, Otto Preminger, Cyril Ritchard, and Theodore. Music composed, arranged and conducted by Maury Laws. Lyrics written and adapted by Jules Bass. Produced and directed by Arthur Rankin Jr. and Jules Bass. Featuring “The Greatest Adventure — The Ballad of the Hobbit” sung by Glenn Yarbrough.
