Description
1974 4LP boxset on Argo Records. A 'dramatic narration' by Nicol Williamson of Tolkien's first published excursion into the fantasy world of Middle Earth. Williamson would later memorably go on to play Merlin in John Boorman's film Excalibur, so you can compare and contrast his portrayal of Gandalf here. A six page booklet is included with plot synopses for each side and notes by Lisa Demetriou. The illustration on the cover of the box is by JRR Tolkien himself. The records are in excellent condition, with one very light surface half-inch mark on side one which doesn't affect play. The box is in excellent condition, with some very slight wear to the corners.
