The Incredible String Band - The 5000 Spirits Or The Layers Of The Onion ( 1967 early 70,s hybrid pressing. UK Elektra EKS 7257 stereo , Matt Cover ). Paul McCartney said this was his favourite album of 1967. A man of taste indeed. Wonderful pop art cover by The Fool . Seminal cornerstone album of the acid psych folk genre. Very rare hybrid pressing : Butterfly label but very early still with the original EKS prefix and cut from the original masters. So from around 1971.. Matt cover has some edge wear and light creasing . Very crisp and clean though. Straight readable spine and sharp opening edges. Dymo Label name bottom right rear. NEAR EX . Labels show only slight signs of use..no writing. EX. Vinyl lies flat and true on the platter. Nice shiny playing surfaces. Some very light marks from sleeve removal. Nothing intrusive though. Fantastic audio. Very quiet pressing. Superior to the orange Polydor originals IMO. NEAR EX. Gradings as per : Record Collector Grading System definitions. Dealer & collector since 1974.
