Description
Up for sale is a very scarce single (7 inch, 45 RPM vinyl) featuring two outstanding rhythm and blues songs, both examples of "Philadelphia soul". This record has been play tested and plays really nicely.
Artist: The Intruders

Record Number: LN-195
Release Year: 1961
One Side (LN-195A): Come Home Soon (Intruders); G & H (BMI); Time: 2:13
Wax matrix marks: "LN - 195A" (etched)
Other Side (LN-195B): I'm Sold (On You) (Intruders); G & H (BMI); Time: 2:04
Wax matrix marks: "LN - 195B" (etched)
These were the first two songs ever recorded by The Intruders, who had formed in 1960. The group included: Sam "Little Sonny" Brown, Eugene "Bird" Daughtry, Philip "Phil" Terry, and Robert "Big Sonny" Edwards. They remained active throughout the 1960s and 1970s, compiling a total of 24 chart R&B hits and 14 hits on the Billboard "Hot 100".
The producer for both sides is listed as "G&H". I suspect that these were the initials of songwriters and record producers Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff. Gamble and Huff helped launch many artists in Philadelphia, but The Intruders were one of their first clients.
The single I am selling first appeared on the Gowen label in 1961. Lost Nite Records, based in Philadelphia, specialized in the re-release of scarce singles by local R&B and doo-wop artists.
