Description
This is a great gift for an Irish-history buff; from CBS Legacy Collection records, with Charles Kuralt narrating, is a two-LP compilation of famous speeches during, and songs about upheavals in Ireland from 1916 to 1922. Cover notes say that this set tells: 'The story of Ireland's fight for freedom in songs and ballads, interviews with survivors, and excerpts from speeches by its leaders, including President Eamon de Valera. Recorded live in Dublin, and by the Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem, especially for this two-record album.' The album was issued in 1966.
The records, each in a plastic inner sleeve, are in very good condition, though both outer paper sleeves show some wear. A four-page insert also in the box describes the content of each track on both records, be it a speech excerpt or a song. And a replica of a call to arms for Ireland is included; it is in good condition, though one edge shows some wear. The box itself is in good shape, though one side is frayed on one edge.
