Description

This auction is for a US 7" single of The Butterfly Collector b/w Strange Town (PD 14553) on black vinyl in excellent condition. This single was initially pressed on yellow vinyl with a planned repressing on black, however the single sold so poorly that very few black vinyl versions made it into the shops. Consequently the black vinyl version is far rarer than the yellow pressing. In their August 2008 issue Record Collector ran a piece on Paul Weller and The Jam and in a section on the top 20 foreign rarities listed the black vinyl version with a valuation of £80.
