Original rare 1968 STEREO UK pressing of KINKS classic album inc. cover - THE VILLAGE GREEN PRESERVATION SOCIETY.

A classic, collecable album on offer on vinyl. In good condition - selling for my mate who is trying to raise funds for his 2007 Glastonbury tickets. I listened to it in full this a.m. for the first time ever, quite impressed - good album - sounds a bit like the Beatles being molested by Procul Harum!! :o)

The album has a few surfaces scratches but DOES NOT jump. The odd light click & crackle but essentially very satisfactory indeed for a 39 year old vinyl L.P (yes - time does fly by!!). The cover still has very good colour on the sleeve design & is in only fair condition, hence the protective poly sleeve. Paper inner sleeve still present. The album is a very rare 1968 stereo recording - the album cover at the rear shows the word mono - I have sinced researched this & found out that this would have had a sticker with the word 'stereo' on it, covering mono as most copies were mono, apparently. I will also enclose some provenance regarding this (piece of paper highlighting the same thing i found out) that obviously the previous owner, for whom my friend acquired it, had acquired.

Will be packed using tough hardboard.

ALSO PLEASE NOTE: BOTH the UK Stereo & Mono Kinks Village Green album were both released 22nd November 1968, therefore this is a first pressing - this STEREO pressing is MUCH rarer than the MONO due to market forces at the time - FAR MORE MONO pressings were recorded as in 1968 more people in the UK owned old MONO record players than Stereo hifi's - that simple, making this 1968 STEREO pressing/recording by FAR rarer than the MONO. Hence why the UK 1968 MONO recording is often seen on eBay, there are still lots of them about.

The real valuable Village Green album is the USA pressing/recording from 1968 - this was a 12 track album as opposed all of the UK 15 track albums. It was released in September 1968 & marketed in Europe for a very short period only before the plug was pulled to allow the release of the UK pressed 15 track album in November '68.
