Description
WELCOME! This is a limited first edition original U.S. pressing of The Killers - Hot Fuss on blue vinyl in NEAR MINT/NEAR MINT condition. I purchased it brand new and I have never played it. It has always been stored upright with other vinyl in a climate-controlled, non-smoking environment inside the clear resealable protective sleeve shown in the photos. (The sleeve will be included in the purchase.)
AUTHENTIC: I have provided clear and detailed images of the UPC bar code and the handwritten matrix etchings on the inner grooves as proof of its authenticity. Collectors familiar with what to look for and what to avoid will see that this copy meets all of the criteria for being the real deal.
GRADING: As a vinyl collector with over 20 years of experience, I find the practice by certain sellers of overrating their records in order to guarantee sales to be unprofessional and irritating, not to mention costly! That being said, I have rated this copy somewhat conservatively using the Goldmine Grading Guide and my experience as a collector. I am not a professional record appraiser, so use your best judgement regarding the photos and the following details...
Cover: NM
- The cover is still in brand new condition and rarely handled, so it is nearly flawless. There is no shelf or outer ring wear whatsoever.
- There is a minor crimp in the cardboard at the top left corner of the cover that was there when I bought it (see photos 1 & 2). This was caused either during shipping or by the contraction of the factory shrink wrap due to temperature changes, or by shrink-wrapping the cover too tight in the first place. Were it not for this minor crimping, I would rate the cover a solid MINT.
Vinyl: NM
- Again, this LP has never been played, so the vinyl is virtually flawless. There is a small speck of dust or other debris inside the vinyl which is a factory defect (photo 5, top right). Were it not for this defect, I would rate the vinyl a solid MINT.
- Here are the handwritten matrix etchings on the inner grooves (compare with photos 7 & 8)...
