Description
The Kinks: All Day and all of the night / I Gotta Move. Pye 7N 15714 .published 1964
White A Label, Advance promotion Copy.
Autographed on the A side by both Ray and Dave Davies
Condition: Excellent
This was the Kinks fourth single, the one that consolidated their status and that of songwriter Ray Davies. After two flops and one big hit, this was their make or break release and after it's resounding success they continued to chart throughout the rest of the sixties. This is a fantastic record with one of the best B sides ever!!!
This white A label, advance demonstration copy was issued prior to the records official release to press and radio stations, only a few copies were pressed up in this format and now few survive in such pristine condition. The autographs were added by Ray and Dave in 1989 after a concert at the Stadium in Dublin. Dave remarked of this record, "bloody hell,it looks like it was made yesterday"
I managed to get Ray and Dave to sign several items that evening and this particular record is hard for me to part with. It represents a little piece of Kinks history, as well as my own. I have been a fan since day one 8 0'clock...Anyway I hope it goes to a good home,or preservation society,God bless the Kinks!!!
P.S I am willing to provide written authentication for the autographs if neccessary.
The large format picures I have provided for this record show its remarkable condition after 44 years, apart from one small tear to the cover it is near mint.
