Description

An original 1st press of KINKS from 1964 on the PYE UK label. Matrix 2T/2T. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original G&L patents pending cover with flipbacks. Also included is the original blue and white PYE advertising inner sleeve from the time. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) Woah! What a copy...this beast has only seen very light use. Under close inspection I could only make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level playback. I most certainly have never heard the debut sound quite this clear and vibrant - it's a stunner! It just beggars belief that a '64 copy surfaces having seen such low-mileage. Interference is pretty much non-existent. Just perfectly clear audio with no background...the whole way through...even in the quieter tracks. I'll do my usual catch-all...you might detect a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments per side, and one slight tick in the opening couple of seconds of 'Stop Your Sobbing'. It's a storming rendition which is nigh on perfect..so I'm giving it the formal 'FINAL UPGRADE' badge.
Cover (Vg+) In great shape and is looking way better than many examples that surface. Lovely clean, flat, and shiny front cover with just two thumbnail creases. The rear seems to have avoided the worst of the ageing process. But please note there are a couple of blemishes in a couple of spots, and a stain in the top right [on the flipback]. Edge wear is very light and the spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex) Hardly any ageing. No splits or writing.
