Description

The Kinks - Kinda Kinked - 2nd LP -  1965 first pressing A1 / B1

Catalog number: NPL18112

Grading details:

The record:   Fully play tested and enjoyed by me, on a Technics SL1600, it plays with minimal surface noise, no jumps or skips, no heavy clicks as no deep scratches are present. There is a visible light scratch on side (looks like a wayward tone arm job) but it is not deep and presents no playback problems.  Some usual hairlining and faint paper scratches, as is expected for a record from this period. Nice heavy vinyl, with no worrying issues. My overall grade for the vinyl is a conservative VG.

The labels: Graded VG/VG. No marks, some spindling.

Matrix numbers: Side 1 A1 Side 2 is B1

The Sleeve: Graded as VG. Garrod and Lofthouse laminated flip back sleeve. Front laminated only. Some minor natural storage wear  general thumbing discoloration  to matted white areas on the rear, some light creasing to front laminate, but no major tears, splits or damage and edges still sharp with small one and a half inch seam split on the spine but no tears or nasties. In good shape for its 49 years!

The original pye printed blue advert paper inner sleeve is VG with a seam split of about 3inches along the bottom. A newer "UK patent applied" one will be supplied.

Please study the description and all the photos carefully before bidding. Record collector prices this LP at £100 mint. However, you will not find a mint copy, if it's played, even once, it can not be mint, so that grade for this LP surely must refer to what I would call an EX+ copy . I would say this copy overall is VG and could be valued at around £75.

The returns policy: As you can see a lot of trouble has been taken to ensure a full and correct description,  as I believe it is very important on items like this. If by some chance you do disagree with my grading, and are not happy, you are welcome to return it for a refund. Please contact me first. Opening disputes before contacting a seller to sort things out is not necessary. Buyer pays postage and should send back using a signed for service to be 100% safe.

Postage; UK mainland is £4.50 RM signed for.

About me: I have been collecting and working with records for over 30 years and spent almost all of the 80’s working in a vinyl record shop, so when I grade records I will often be conservative and under grade, which means nothing that is secondhand is ever graded Mint, even if it looks unplayed. All records are from my own collection and are carefully play tested before listing on a Technics SL1600 turntable. I have 100% feedback on EBay and most of my records will be listed as VG or EX even if they are in better condition.

Records are graded according to the official Record Collector grading guide below.

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

Pay Pal only.
