'The Kinks Are The Village Green Preservation Society'
Extremely limited vinyl 2LP edition #215/1000 which contains both the stereo and mono versions of the Kinks 1968 masterpiece - Near Mint / Near Mint / Near Mint
– played just once
Pressed on two heavyweight 180g autumnal-coloured (green, gold, yellow, brown) marble-effect vinyl LPs in a nice matt gatefold sleeve with shiny printed card inner sleeves and liner-notes. Another seller on Ebay has described the visual aspect thus: “The translucent green vinyl, mottled with orange and yellow is reminiscent of the sun pouring through the trees during lazy afternoons on the village green…”
The mono mix of the album is punchier, whilst the stereo mix (despite some flaws - holes in the stereo image due to poor panning choices etc) still offers a beautiful, murky (autumnal) sound
Lots of differences in the mixes! "Wicked Anabella" has an extra cackling goblin vocal in mono in a couple places. "Riverside" has a very different delay effect on the mono which makes it sound less dreamy.
