Description
A 1st pressing of VGPS on the UK PYE label. Matrix A3/B4. Stampers B1/B1. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original mono cover which has a stereo sticker covering the mono text on the rear. These were the very first stereo copies to hit the market and are beautiful & super heavy. There is a white inner with UK patent number on and 'foreign patents pending'.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In absolutely superb shape and has clearly seen only the lightest of use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of very light marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. Interference is very minimal - all we detected was a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments [literally]. There's absolutely no sign of groove wear and I'd imagine it would be nigh on impossible going better on the audio front than on this copy - it is just so darn well preserved.
Cover (Vg+) Still in very well preserved condition and has clearly been looked after own the years. The only vaguely noticeable deterioration is a couple of tiny areas of laminate lift, a small price indentation top-left, and some moderate edge wear. At no point has any of this warn 'through' but do it expect it on the edges. The text on the spine is still intact, but again, is showing a bit of wear. The interior is immaculate and the flipbacks are all secure. Again, the rear is in nice condition just a couple of light creases. Overall the cover retains much of its original rigidity.
Inner (Ex) Bit of ageing and no splits.
