S/T 12" ALBUM - 2004

ORIGINAL STAMPERS USED TO PRESS THE VINYL!!

Up for auction is probably the ultimate rarity: A unique pair of metal stampers used to press the Libertines 2nd, S/T, album in 2004.

Your once in a lifetime chance to own a piece of Libertines history. You will not find a rarer Libs item.

When the record is first cut a lacquer is made, at this point the matrix codes are added. Then the lacquer is put in a bath and electroplated (usually with a nickel alloy). At this point the lacquer is peeled off the new metal stampers, a lot of lacquers get destroyed or damaged at this point. You are left with a mirror finish stamper that can be used to press the vinyl records. This is what is up for auction!

You get both side A and the side B pressing stampers.

Matrix codes: Side A - RTRADLP 166 A (mirror image of course)

                      Side B - RTRADLP 166 B' (again, in mirror image)
