WELCOME!

I own Headlamp Shovel Records in Austin TX, but I took a short break from Ebay to focus on my other career... but I am back in action now and will be auctioning a lot of new items this month.

I specialize in rare and unknown items, including LPs and 7" of Modern Soul, Boogie, Power Pop... Xian genres of all kinds (from Gospel Boogie to 80s AOR Soft Rock and Xian Psych)... Hard Rock and Heavy Metal Cassettes... Indie Rap and R&B CDs... and generally anything that is un-findable, un-googleable, and worth digging out for the rare collector and lover of extreme obscurity! And of course I have a plethora of classic records and other non-media items too.

HEADLAMPSHOVEL.BLOGSPOT.COM will soon be updated again, (where I catalogue obscure finds and digging information...) and I sell on DISCOGS as TranspacJackson.  Get bidding!

FOR AUCTION IS:

The Love Bone Band - Let's Dance / Sexy Ladies 7"
LABEL: Shot O' Gold (ESS-822).
YEAR: 1983
Super dope 45 that almost never comes around for sale. Sadly, the condition leaves much to be desired, but does play through...

 CONDITION:  GRADE: G
So I included sound clips of the ENTIRE 45, both sides, so that you could hear this as opposed to me just giving it a grade and hoping for the best, because it has been WELL LOVED AND VERY WELL PLAYED by someone, I mean jeez maybe it was the guys girlfriend or something. Anyway, the Let's Dance side is in fact listenable and although it does have a lot of crackling and some pops at the beginning, it gets much better as it goes, and is still quite enjoyable to me, I would grade it G to G+ as there is nothing super deep, and nothing that causes skip, and no warp, but the flip side is worse, as you can hear, and I would grade G-, as it doesn't skip and plays through on my table the whole way through. Theres no super deep gashes or anything on it, just a ton of marks, crackle noise a-plenty. Also on this side there is a tiny tiny chip on the rim, but it doesnt affect play at all and is not an issue really, purely cosmetic and barely visible, I included a super close up shot of it for you. Now, if there was deep gashes or skipping I wouldn't sell this. And I am a conservative grader, but I would highly recommend listening to both sound clips and deciding if the crackle/noise is tolerable to you.  Personally I find the Lets Dance side playable and enjoyable, and the Sexy Ladies side just too noisy to jam out to, possibly because its more quiet recording on this side. But if youre more into the Let's Dance side anyway, or you have a high tolerance for crackle, this is indeed a ridiculously rare item.

:) I always grade conservatively and base my grading scale on a modified Goldmine scale for greater precision, with +'s -'s and more description to supplement. I have 100% satisfaction in grading and if a discrepancy arises I always work it out. Thanks!
