Description
This is a hard-to-find 2-LP radio special sent to broadcasters only in December, 1990 for airing in January, 1991 on stations airing the syndicated "The Weekly Specials" programs. It was never made available to the public.These are in stereo. Each special would focus on a particular artist. This set here is 'The Madonna Story' and includes some of her biggest hits, as well as interview excerpts with her and Patrick Leonard. Additionally, commercial segments are included. You can see a lot of the content info in the third photo of in this listing of the original cue sheets included with this set (in addition to the intro letter for DJ's). Songs included are Lucky Star, Like a Virgin, Live to Tell, Papa Don't Preach, Open Your Heart, La Isla Bonita, Who's That Girl, Causing a Commotion, Like a Prayer, Express Yourself, Cherish, Vogue, Hanky Panky, and Justify My Love. There are 12 interview segments with Madonna and three with Pat Leonard. Commercials include Fritos, K-Mart Records, Miles Alka, Gateway Phonics, and McKesson Value Rite.
Record One has notably visible scuffing and some scratches. Record Two (one-sided) not as much. I've had this in my collection since the late '90s and hadn't listened to it since then. So, I listened to a bit of each segment before listing here and did not hear any significant problems. There is some light surface noise at times. I did not hear any skips or pops, BUT did not play all the way through.
The cover has very significant wear, especially on the back (see first and second photos). ALSO, most of the bottom seam is split (see last photo).
