Pyramid Records – PYR 6052
Original UK First Pressing – 1968 – A-1/B-1 Matrices – KT Tax Code

This is a genuine original UK first pressing of this highly collectible Pyramid Records release featuring The Maytals – “We Shall Overcome” backed with Desmond Dekker & The Aces – “Foo Manchu”.

An increasingly difficult UK ska/reggae 45 to find, especially with its original four-prong push-out centre intact.

Pressing Details:

* Original UK Pyramid Records issue
* Catalogue number: PYR 6052
* Released: 1968
* Matrix (Side A): PYR 6052 A-1
* Matrix (Side B): PYR 6052 B-1
* Early A1 / A1 mother/stamper markings
* Original KT purchase tax code stamped in the run-out, confirming an early UK pressing
* Original silver Pyramid labels
* Four-prong push-out centre retained (not dinked)

Condition

Vinyl: VG+

The record retains a lovely gloss with clean labels. There are light surface marks and hairlines consistent with careful use over the years, but nothing that detracts from its presentation.

Playback: Plays very well with only light background noise in places, with no skips or sticking.

Labels: Clean with only light signs of age and handling.

A very respectable collector’s copy of a scarce late-1960s UK Pyramid release.

An excellent opportunity to add an authentic first UK pressing to any serious ska, rocksteady or reggae collection.
