The Microphones "Bass Drum Dream" b/w "Where It's Hotter Parts 1, 2 & 3"
(Up Records, 1999)
This is a RARE seven inch from the early canon of one of the NW's indie legends. I purchased this in 1999 at The Business (home of KNW-YR-OWN Records) in Anacortes for airplay on my local music radio show on the college station in Bellingham I dj'ed at for ten years. Its in great condition and has just been sitting in a box in my garage the last eight years. This is the 1st seven inch for Phil Elvrum and his project The Microphones/Mount Eerie and came several years before the seminal album "The Glow, Pt. 2." If you need help with the digital version of the songs, I can email those to you, as well!
Stay tuned and see our auctions for more rare NW INDIE, INCLUDING CASSETTES AND 7" FROM DEATH CAB (first cassette and seven inches), ALL-TIME QUARTERBACK (cassette) and other pre-death cab projects, RARE FLIERS (all-time quarterback/martin youth auxiliary), THE MICROPHONES (cassette and seven inches) and others in the next week.
"My friend is letting me sell these items on their eBay account, they're taking care of shipping and everything. My name is Matt Fu and I have been a DIY performer, promoter and activist for 15 years, 2/3 of that time spent in Bellingham. I have a local music radio show called The Corner Pocket that has been around for 12 years, dedicated to music in and around Bellingham. I've also performed, toured and recorded as 1985, have a non-for-profit DIY label and I spent more than a decade putting on all-ages shows (I still do at a house venue in Seattle). I HATE having to sell this release, as I consider myself an avid and vast archiver of local music. Getting something rid of this rare and special hurts. But I am in a tough spot financially and am also trying to finally move back home to Bellingham... Thanks for your time."
My friend, the seller who has an amazing eBay reputation, assures me that almost all international orders are good, but they have to be cautious sometimes (they are handling this auction and the shipping). Here is their standard shipping message:
I COMBINE SHIPPING PRICES AND OFFER DISCOUNTS SO BUY MORE THAN ONE THING FROM ME AND SAVE MONEY!
Thanks!
I DONT SEND TO ITALY OR TIMBUK2. PLEASE UNDERSTAND THIS AS MAIL ALWAYS GETS LOST. IF YOU LIVE IN ANY INTERNATIONAL COUNTRY PLEASE CHECK WITH ME FIRST BEFORE BUYING. I TAKE ABSOLUTELY NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR SENDING STUFF INTERNATIONAL. I AM A GREAT SELLER ON EBAY AND DONT NEED TO RELY ON AN IMPARTIAL MAIL SERVICE. NO REFUNDS GIVEN FOR "LOST INTERNATIONAL PACKAGES"
THANKS!
