Description

This listing is for 1 LP record album featuring rare and previously unreleased music from the Monkees.  The album is in excellent condition.  Although the record has been opened/unsealed and played, the original plastic wrapping is still on the cover.  
I purchased this from catalog I got from an ad in the back of a magazine around 1987 - 88 and it is an unusual record.  The front and back covers, inner liner, and record labels are plain white with "Rarities 1" written in black.  The only way you would know what is on the record is by a Monkees logo sticker on the outer plastic wrapper.  
The songs featured on the album are a lot of the selections that eventually ended up on the "Missing Links" collections 1 - 3, but this vinyl album predates those releases.  They are:
Side 1:  Davy's Second Song, All the King's Horses, Valarie (alternate version), Billy Roy Hodstetter's Differen't Drum, Take A Giant Step (alt), I'll Be Back Up On My Feet (alt), an excellent very raw version of Steppin' Stone, I Wanna Be Free (alt with Mickey singing), You Just May Be The One (alt), She Hangs Out (alt), Star Collector (alternate version with less of the warbling synthesizer toward the end).
Side 2:  Girl I Knew Somewhere (alt), Tear the Top Right Off My Head (Peter Tork), Lady's Baby (Peter Tork), I Know A Girl (Davey and Charley), Merry Go Round (Peter Tork), Mustang, Christmas Is My Time Of Year, White Christmas (Davy Jones), Goin' Down (alt).
