Description

An original and very 1st press of BALANCE on UK Threshold from 1970. Matrix 1W/1W. Ok, so how do we identify the VERY 1st press? Well, there are a few things to look out for. VERY 1st press should not include any BIEM or GEMA boxed logos at 9 o'clock on the label. Look for the heaviest pressings too - these will be the earliest. The vinyl comes housed in an original 1st issue sealing pocket gatefold. This is quite a specific 1st issue. Look for the yellow spine and a flap at the bottom that will fit into a slot at the other end of the gatefold. We also have the correct Decca inner sleeve from the time and the lyric sheet inner too. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex) In lovely condition and has only seen light use. Shiny surfaces with much of the original lustre still present. Under close inspection I couldn't make out more than a couple of lightest marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with superb clarity. And you will most certainly need this for a MOODY title - background will soon irritate. This eample plays clean throughout allowing you maximum potential to take on board this Moody classic in full effect. A couple of crackles in a couple of isolated spots per side. In reality not too far from perfect.
Cover (Ex-) First thing to mention is that the surfaces are clean and smooth. You can tell this cover has been carefully looked after and has never come into contact with the damp. There's no surface wear and colour retention is excellent. The interior is pretty much immaculate. Very little edge wear observable at all and the openings are still sharp. The only thing stopping grading higher is a small tear to that opening slot. I have tape repaired it - it is now merely a minor cosmetic issue. Text on the spine is fully legible just lightest touchh of wear [nice!]. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Lyric Sheet (Ex+) Practically perfect.
Inner (Vg+) Bag present. Light ageing. No splits.
