Description

An original mono 1st press of 'Lost Chord' on the UK DSS label. Matrix 1W/1W. Although this DSS label design was used for a number of years it's actually dead easy to pick out a 1st press of this title. Look at the label shots - if you see that deep groove you know you have a 1st press. Early copies were also pressed on much thicker vinyl. The vinyl comes housed in an original Robert Stace mono gatefold cover. Again, dead easy to spot the 1st issue. They are made of thicker card and there's an extra piece of card on the inside which forms a pocket for the vinyl.
Vinyl (Ex-) Has seen a light to moderate amount of use, but remains in very fine form. Under close inspection there are a couple of very light marks either side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a NEAR EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. You need a decent copy on this title otherwise a lot of that acoustic ambience is going to get affected. Interference is minor and infrequent. All we detected was a touch of light static now and again, and certainly nothing remotely invasive. A very solid player and, in mono, more than likely the best format for this title.
Cover (Ex-) Very nice condition and fares better than many proper original copies that surface. A lovely shiny front with barely a crease on it. Lightest of ageing on the rear, bit again it seems to have escaped creasing. The interior is in great condition too with just very light foxing in places. Edge wear is very light and the spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and remains a very nice specimen indeed.
