Description
This mega rare and very collectible black vinyl pressing (MM07) features The Move (Roy Wood's first group) performing five songs live in Sweden in 1967, four songs at the Marquee Club in London, in 1968, and lastly one song, "Open My Eyes" recorded live at the Fillmore West, San Francisco, in October of 1969, was released by Melvin Records in 1979. The Move is considered to be one of the most creative bands ever due to their strong and exotic songwriting and also their fascinating instrumental incarnations.
The legendary Roy Wood, playing lead guitar and some vocals, went on to become a member of Wizard and Electric Light Orchestra. His unique style and great talent captured here live. The first five tracks on side two consist of the songs on the famous "Something Else" EP. They are here for the first time on a long playing album. A seven minute raucous version of the Nazz tune "Open My Eyes" was recorded during their very short tour of the U.S..
Live recordings of The Move in any form are incredibly scarce. While the overall sonic quality of the recorded songs, particularly the final track, may not be as sonically perfect as their studio produced recordings, just being able to experience The Move performing live is special. This is not an easy album to find anywhere.
