THE NOTWIST, 1989 gegründet, damals bestehend aus Martin Messerschmidt, sowie den Brüdern Micha und Markus Acher - veröffentlichte vor gut dreißig Jahren ihr selbstbetiteltes Debüt-Album auf Subway Records, eine einzigartige Gratwanderung zwischen melodiösem Independent, metallischen Rock und explosiven Hardcore-Parts." Die dreizehn noisy Songs ließen erst erahnen, dass sich hier der Begin einer ebenso großartigen wie ungewöhnlichen und vielfältigen Karriere zeigt: "Über weite Strecken eine ziemlich heftige Punk/Hardcore/Metal-Mischung, taucht am Ende der Platte doch eine frühe Notwist-Hymne auf: "Nothing Like You"." (allmusic.com) - THE NOTWIST, formed in 1989, then consisting of Martin Messerschmidt, and brothers Micha and Markus Acher - released their self-titled debut album on Subway Records a good thirty years ago, a unique tightrope walk between melodic independent, metallic rock and explosive hardcore parts." The thirteen noisy songs only hinted at the beginning of a career that is as great as it is unusual and diverse: "A pretty heavy punk/hardcore/metal mix for long stretches, an early Notwist anthem nevertheless emerges at the end of the record: "Nothing Like You"."
