Description
The Original MODERN LOVERS Jonathan Ritchman BOMP! BLP 4021 Kim Fowley Produced Demos recorded in 1972 but not released until 1981 on BOMP! and Mohawk Records.
The Modern Lovers only ever recorded demos and live shows, but the demos were released as albums several years later.
One set of demos, produced by John Cale, were released as the band's "first album", The Modern Lovers, in 1976. The artwork says the recordings are from 1971, but they were actually recorded in 1972.
Another set of demos, produced by Kim Fowley, were released as the band's "second album" (this one), in 1981. The artwork says the recordings were made in 1972, but liner notes on later editions say they're from 1973.
VINYL in VG++ with a few very light hairlines/sleeve scuffs, looks barely played. Audio is excellent, test played on headphones.
COVER in VG with creasing along the spine, light ring wear, 2" area at record opening where the edge was crushed. Corner bumps, spine readable has some chipping/rubbing, top seam intact with some chipping at edges and rubbing, bottom seam intact with rubbing/chipping.
MATRIX:
