Description
Before “Mr. Pharmacist” became a post-punk favorite, it was one of the hidden gems of the California garage scene.
Offered here is an original 1967 GNP Crescendo white-label promotional pressing by The Other Half, featuring the legendary “Mr. Pharmacist” backed with “I’ve Come So Far.” Long celebrated by garage rock collectors and later immortalized through The Fall’s celebrated cover, the original remains one of the standout cult singles of the psychedelic era.
This promotional copy retains strong gloss with only light signs of handling. Labels show radio-station use, including a handwritten date and remnants of timing stickers—authentic evidence of its promotional history.
A difficult original to upgrade and an excellent addition for collectors of ’60s garage, psychedelic rock, white-label promos, and obscure California bands.
Condition:Strong VG+ overall with excellent eye appeal. The vinyl retains a deep, glossy shine and shows only light sleeve scuffs and a few faint surface hairlines consistent with careful handling over nearly 60 years. No obvious deep scratches or feelable marks were noted during visual inspection.
The white promotional labels remain clean and fully legible, with a handwritten “1967” notation and remnants of radio station timing stickers—typical of authentic promotional copies that saw station use. These do not affect playability and add to the record’s period provenance.
Housed in a vintage GNP Crescendo company sleeve showing edge wear, tape repairs, and age-related handling.
Please review all photos carefully, as they are part of the description. Record has been visually graded under bright light. If play-tested, any playback observations will be noted separately.
