Description
The "Papas & the Mamas" LP album was the 4th Mamas & Papas studio album. It was released in 1968. It is somewhat rare in that the title is the actually the reverse of their stage name and the cover is a "special fun jacket" (photo 2 and 11) which allows you to transpose the top of their faces on the bottoms of each other's faces. This album was made in Germany (which was unusual) and contains the handwritten autographs of each of the members. John Phillips' is in bright blue sharpie (photo 3). Denny Doherty's is in black sharpie over his face (photo 5). Michelle Phillips' is in bold black sharpie over her face (photo 4). Cass Elliot's is in graphite under her chin (photos 6 & 12). It is intact but more difficult to see because it is not in ink and it is written over her dark hair. This group was an icon of the folk-rock era and unfortunately 3 of the 4 members are now deceased. This signed album is a collector's dream. PLEASE be advised that the seller cannot guarantee the authenticity of the signatures and that there is no certificate of authenticity for this item.
