Description

A strong-playing original 1985 U.S. pressing of The Pogues’ classic second album, Rum Sodomy & The Lash, produced by Elvis Costello and featuring Shane MacGowan at his absolute best.
This is the original U.S. MCA/Stiff Records release, catalog number MCA-5744. The stamped SRC logo in the dead wax identifies it as a Specialty Records Corporation pressing.
VINYL: STRONG VG++/EXCELLENT - Play tested!
The vinyl has been play-tested and sounds great. It remains impressively glossy, looks excellent overall and delivers enjoyable playback throughout. Only light, superficial signs of previous handling are visible under bright direct inspection lighting. The photos intentionally show the record from multiple angles and under strong light so buyers can evaluate the exact copy for themselves.
VG++ is not an official grading category, but it accurately describes this copy as being stronger than an ordinary VG+ while remaining conservatively below Near Mint.
COVER: VG+
The original cover presents very well overall. It shows light surface rubbing and scuffing, along with minor edge and corner wear consistent with age and careful previous handling. It remains an attractive, solid example with bold artwork and no major condition problems.  Only issue is the upper right front corner, which has been photographed. Please review the detailed photographs.
INNER SLEEVE
The original inner sleeve is not included. The record is housed in a replacement clear sleeve.
MATRIX / RUNOUT
Side A: MCA-5385-A-SR-1, stamped SRC logo
Side B: MCA-5386-B-SR-1
Includes standout tracks such as “The Sick Bed of Cúchulainn,” “The Old Main Drag,” “A Pair of Brown Eyes,” “Sally MacLennane,” “Dirty Old Town” and “And the Band Played Waltzing Matilda.”
This is an excellent opportunity to add a clean, strong-playing original U.S. copy of one of the defining Celtic punk albums to your collection.
Vinyl grading is subjective, so I make every effort to photograph and describe each record accurately. Please review all photos closely. The pictured record and cover are the exact items you will receive.
The record will be removed from the cover and mailed properly in a vinyl mailer. My handling time is set at 1 business day, but I sometimes ship the same day.
