For sale is this US issue original vinyl 7" shaped picture disc single, in a picture sleeve, by The Police. Entitled Message In A Bottle, the B-side is Message In A Bottle Live. It is housed in the original stickered cardboard wallet picture sleeve. On the A&M label, the catalogue number is PR 4400 and the date of issue is 1980. This is the second pressing with the speed on the sticker corrected to 45 rpm (the first pressing incorrectly stated 33 rpm).
Condition
The vinyl is in Very Good condition.
The stickered wallet picture cover is only in Good Plus condition with edge, corner and surface wear, small tears at the top and bottom of the wallet spine and discolouration marks to the sticker (see pics).
All vinyl records are strictly graded according to Record Collector magazine's grading system, the long established UK standard, with any specific flaws mentioned along with the grading. They are sent in custom-made mailers, with built-in or added stiffeners, and are packaged outside their sleeves to prevent edge splits. Singles without a picture sleeve will either have a plain sleeve or a correct-era original (not repro) record company sleeve (stated above). Original record company sleeves may not be the exact sleeve issued with the single so may have a different catalogue number hand-written in the corner but they will be the correct design for the single. They may have a bit of wear, writing, stickers, sticker marks etc but will be in a generally good, useable condition without edge splits or sellotape.
