Promo (Demonstration) Albums
Copies of promotional album releases (destined for radio stations, audition or for demonstration purposes) were often distributed to the radio stations before the record was released to the public. This could be as much as four months ahead of actual release date. These "promos" are generally considered to be the first among equals, i.e. the very first generation and the very first pressing of that particular title. It was also considered to be a prototype of the earliest known official pressing.
