Description
The Pretty Things--SF Sorrow--Rare Earth 506. This 1968 album was supposedly the first rock opera, and also an experiment of sorts, for Motown owned Rare Earth. Also, these guys re-recorded this album in 1990 at Abbey Road studios with most of the original members getting back together again. Pink Floyd and The Beatles were also at Abbey Road at that time in 1968 working on their respective projects. This seems to be the first press, everything checks out, this album was re-issued several times later on. The gate fold cover is in pretty good shape, it's very legible all the way thru, hardly any wear what so ever. The spine is very much intact, very sturdy and fully legible. Some wear at the very top, where the word "Stereo" is, and a bit else where, not to detectable. The right corner is frayed a bit, and along the edges up top are very nice, not to shabby. The back has some wear, top and bottom, not at all bad and some discoloration to be had. The photo of the band with exception to a little wear on two of the corners is great. So in summary, not a bad cover at all, seen lots worse, go with an OK VG+. The vinyl end of things, well, not bad at all, there are some light scratches, a few scuffs, and that's it. Visually, anything that would cause pops and clicks, but can't be heard is a good thing, not that this is loaded with such, but for that one light scratch that would cause a half dozen or so clicks, you get the picture, I can only report what I see and or hear!!! The total here is that there are only a few medium pops and some occasional clicking, in my book, still a good, shiny record to listen to!!!! I'll go with a decent VG+!!!
