Description
The Ramones 'Animal Boy' vinyl LP from 1986 on Beggars Banquet BEGA 70.
It is hand-signed on the front cover by Johnny Ramone, Joey Ramone and Dee Dee Ramone. (They have all now sadly passed away). Joey has also signed it 'Que Pasa?' by his name, but I don't know the reason for this.
The signatures are a little difficult to read as the album cover is quite dark, but I have tried to photograph them as best I can. Dee Dee has signed his over an area of black!
Also included is the promotional sheet from Beggars Banquet (a sheet of A4, dated 15th May 1986) about the new album.
The vinyl is in excellent / near-mint condition and it looks like it's never been played. The cover is is near-mint condition with no creases or marks (except, that is, for the three signatures)
The album was signed before their gig at Rock City, Nottingham on 16th May 1986 when my late brother interviewed them for Radio Trent. It was the second time he interviewed the band.
Please note that I am not a dealer or a record collector. The item is from the extensive collection of my late brother.
He was a great music and radio enthusiast, working for both BBC and commercial radio stations in the East Midlands from 1980 until 2013 presenting various music shows, mostly folk and rock.
During this period he interviewed many bands and artists in Nottingham, Derby and Leicester and usually had them sign copies of the albums they were promoting at the time. He was also sent many promotional, DJ-only and white-label pressings direct from the record companies.
Sadly my brother passed away in November 2013, so I am slowly disposing of his extensive record collection. He had no family of his own, so according to his wishes we have opened a trust account to help his nephew and two nieces through university, and the proceeds from these sales will be paid into that account.
I will be listing quite a few similar items over the coming months, as there are original signed albums by artists ranging from The Ramones to Bryan Ferry and Sandy Denny, plus some rarities and DJ-only promotional copies.
All vinyl will be sent in special secure mailers with stiffeners.
Thank you.
