Description

The Rise and Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars 1972. Vinyl.

DAVID BOWIE Ziggy Stardust PRIZED 6E/4E EX LP with SUPERB CLEAN AUDIO QUALITY.

This record has -6E / -4E matrixes and is very highly regarded in terms of pressing and sound quality. Generally a consensus among Bowie fans that this particular pressing is especially good in terms of sound and quality.

Play-grade is a real joy; this is superbly pressed on top-quality vinyl and really does carry that bit extra in clarity, dynamic range and punch. Possibly not as mass-produced as the earlier ones, thus cleaner with more transparency and depth. Proving once again, not all records are the same, difference batches and pressings really DO vary. This plays with gorgeous clean sound, devoid of pressing noises and distortion – that unfortunately is not always the case. Such fine-tuning and detail only really appreciated when played on higher-end systems or those with a very critical ear – but this copy really is superb. If sound is the priority, this particular pressing delivers and is strongly recommended.

Original Year of Release: 1972 [this a slightly later pressing]

Matrix Nos: BGBS - 0864-6E / BGBS 0865-4E [both scripted]
Vinyl Condition/Visual Grading: EXCELLENT: a very fine visual copy that is very clean with equally fine shine and solidly pressed. A copy with minimal plays on all the evidence with any surface trace marks mostly very fine, light and faint as seen critically under bright angled light. No penetrating stylus marks, visually a lovely record that should please many collectors.
Cover Format: a single unlaminated format that has the RCA Victor logo (NOT INTERNATIONAL) as seen on many reprinted repressings. With the GEM production logo and NO ‘MainMan’, those came a little later in 1973, or when the first were used up. Reprintings included ‘Mainman’ near the top right corner. This one has matt, smooth surfaces, still quite flimsy and delicate. Printed and made in England by Robert Stace. This includes the very fragile, thin paper lyric inner sleeve; with no tears or splits.
Cover Front: An iconic cover for a classic album.  clean with deep colour, a very respectable and still attractive front.  Cover Back: Largely the same. IMPORTANT: A gentle hint of a label rim impression seen under light on both sides.
Top Edge: Thin, straight and barely worn up to the right tip that has a small rub. Bottom Edge: A central rub and to the left and right corners, overall, fared pretty well for a storage edge. Slightly worn. Spine and Text: An impressive spine: very clean, crisp and sharp with barely any compression Solid, straight, with all text is pristine perfect and unworn as seen, also very well centred which always makes for better viewing.
The Inner Sleeve: Shows the edge of the vinyl as shown in picture. However, no tears or splits.
Postage: UK £4.75 (£1 per extra record). Europe (including Russia) £12.50 (£2 per extra record). Rest of World (including ALL parts of the USA) £16.50 (£3 per extra record). All boxes signed for in quality, safe packaging – I NEVER use mailing envelopes that offer virtually no protection at all – in fact I think these things should be banned as records WILL arrive damaged in them at some time. Here, you get what you pay for – SAFE PACKING in BOXES with STIFFENERS.
