Description
This picture disc pressing is the original limited edition Ode release (JEM Records) from 1975. (#36406) -OPD 91653. There have been several re-releases on other labels than Ode. This now iconic soundtrack features the likes of Tim Curry (as Frank N. Furter), Susan Sarandon (as Janet), Meatloaf (as Eddie), and others performing music from the infamous movie of the same name.. The album was co-produced by Lou Adler, who also famously produced Spirit, the Mama and the Papas, Jan and Dean and Carole King. He was a co-owner of the Roxy Theatre in West Hollywood. This movie and its midnight movie parties for fans who would sing-along with the soundtrack made Tim Curry and his original character world famous.This disc is still sealed and has never been played or displayed; There is a small "cut-out" hole in the bottom right of the album sleeve as I bought this copy myself about forty years ago as a "cut-out.The audio quality of picture discs is not considered to be as good as those pressed on black vinyl. These kinds of discs were produced primarily for the fan who wished to display them on a wall This disc does contain the full album, of course, and should play well as it has never been playedI am not a record dealer. I am nearing retirement and am finally planning to sell off my extensive holdings, including most of my picture discs.
