The Rolling Stones, 12 X 5, RHODESIA DECCA MONO LP
The Rolling Stones, 12 X 5.
Scarce early Southern Rhodesia pressed Decca Records mono LP, LK 4438.
Unique blue labels with silver print. Catalogue numbers are etched to run-offs/dead wax, with "Made in S. Rhodesia" etched to both sides.
Vinyl has a fair amount of spider trace marks at centre spindle areas, although not whitening or scuffing wear.Vinyl surfaces have a fair few light hairline scuffs. No deep or sounding marks however.
Playback is actually very acceptably clean and bright. Just a very few isolated and short lived instances of crackle on side one. A very few soft ticks towards the end of "I Used To Love Her". Side two plays very cleanly and brightly, with just a couple of soft ticks towards the end. There is no underlying background noise or crackle, and no loud and continuous ticks or clicks. Labels are free of pen or sticker marks.
LP is undated but clearly early, and obviously pre 1979/1980 when Southern Rhodesia became Zimbabwe.
Inner sleeve is probably a replacement, and is a 4/77 UK Decca poly lined paper sleeve.
Sleeve a little worn but broadly clean and unmarked. Unlaminated but with a slightly glossy feel. No seam splits or tears, although spine area a little chipped, and seams and tips becoming somewhat feathery. Insertion side still acceptably sharp however. Touch of a ringwear trace to both front and rear but not heavily so. Small penned name to top right of rear panel. Small piece of sellotape to bottom right of rear panel, although clean and no yellowed.
The track "Congratulations" is mis-spelt as Congradulations to rear of sleeve.
