Description
A 1st pressing of Aftermath on the UK Decca label. Matrix 4A/4B. Stampers 1-CI/1-UH. Please note the label layout and matrix numbers are consistent with 1st press. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Robert Stace printed cover. Also included is the original Decca inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) In superb condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a coupe of light marks - nothing likely to cause issue. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. Now, don't underestimate how difficult this is to find on Aftermath...it's a real bugger to find this one in top condition. The audio is often low-key and interference has a tendency to interfere. Thankfully not here, there is very little interference audible at all. All we could detect was a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated spots [e.g. in the piano tinkering right at the start of Flight505]. But other than that there's very little even vaguely noticeable. This is a supremely well preserved copy of what remains a very difficult title find in top condition.
Cover (Ex+) Wowzers...how often do you find Aftermath looking like this? Lovely shiny front practically free from laminate lift or creasing. And the rear is in awesome condition having practically escaped the ageing process. Go and have a look at how many other copies look like this on the rear...it is very very unusual. No hidden nasties anywhere. Edge wear is very light and the spine is perfectly intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and lies perfectly flat. I think you'll really struggle to find another example that would even be its equal....
