The Rolling Stones ~ Between The Buttons ~ Decca LK 4852 ~ red unboxed VG/VG/EX

This album has been hailed by some critics as 'among the greatest rock albums’; 'brimming with overlooked gems, the band delivering a captivating blend of folky, Beatles-esque pop and tough bluesy rock tracks. 

Oddly Mick Jagger felt the process of using 4 track tape machines lost the clarity of the songs, commenting during an interview that, "we bounced it back to do overdubs so many times we lost the sound of it. [The songs] sounded so great, but later on I was really disappointed with it’ He went so far as to say that apart from Back Street Girl  "more or less rubbish."

Presented in its 1st pressing format, this is a rare UK record featuring some excellent Folk & Blues Rock numbers.

Vinyl condition*: VG

Labels: Both sides are clean. The Decca logo on side 2 has a bit of wear to it. There are some noticeable spindle marks 

Spindle hole: There is some wear to the edges of the hole

Playing surface: Both sides look good. When turned to the light there are hairlines, light scuffs and handling marks on both sides, but overall it presents well. 

Run Off: There are some heavy marks on side 1, side 2 is a lot better 

Sound*: VG

After listening right through this album, the sound is good, however there are spells of background noise and the sound does lessen in places. Overall there is great depth and range of sound and clarity is overall quite good. Nice press with no skips or jumps. Plays EX for major portions of the LP

Overall its a nice sounding copy, but just not quite good enough to grant the higher grading

Cover & sleeve*: EX

Spine: Perfectly readable text witrh a few creases bottom edge. The surface is a little bumpy, but the laminate is intact.

Seams: No splits, very tidy and straight

Opening: It is a bit curvy in places but no damage to the edges

Front Cover: Very shiny, but there are crescent shaped creases and laminate lift near the opening edges 

Back Cover: Some light laminate lift and a few smaller creases. 32/7 written top right corner on the tiny fold of laminate

Sleeve: Plain white with age related discolouration. 

Overall a nice copy with loud sound. Whilst there are some portions with some noticeable background interference and lessening of sound, its brief and it plays EX mostly. A nice cover and a vinyl that presents quite well

VINYL GRADE DESCRIPTION GUIDE

MINT (M): A perfect record that looks like it has just left the factory, with NO flaws what so ever looking as though it had never been handled. No scuffs or scratches, blotches or stains.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record appears virtually flawless at first glance and has a great luster. It should only have very minor scuffs or marks on the surface of the vinyl, which are only visible under strong light. It should play without any noise particularly over the flaw. 

EXCELLENT (EX): A record with only minor scuffs, which are only slightly visible. There may be more than a few scuffs or marks. It should play without any noise over the flaw.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record shows wear which could include surface scuffs and marks, blotches or stains. The vinyl still has a great luster, but the flaws will be noticeable to the naked eye. The flaws may cause some surface noise. 

A plus (+) or (-) following the condition indicate variations of the condition i.e. VG+ is in slightly better condition than VG but not excellent.

SLEEVE & INSERTS GRADE DESCRIPTION GUIDE

MINT (M): The cover is free of any stickers, address labels, writing or labels. There are no tears or seam splits or wear / fading to the cover. The age of the record has not affected the condition. The cover, sleeve and any inserts (posters, stickers, lyric sheets) look brand new.

NEAR MINT (NM): The cover looks as close to perfect with only minor signs of wear and or age.

EXCELLENT (EX): The artwork is still as close to perfect as can be. There may be some impressions to the cover (minor outer ring wear) but no dis-colouration. It may have some slight creases to the corners, but no major wrinkling, holes or other damage. 

VERY GOOD (VG): The artwork looks clean but with slightly more wear. This could include some fading due to minor sun damage, but there will be know no stains or mildew from water damage. Some minor wear to the seams or spine, but no tears or holes popping through.

Packaged well using high quality card mailers. Each disc is placed in a plain sleeve to avoid seam splits during transit. The cover is placed in a 450g clear sleeve, with card stiffeners placed either side to protect the package.
