Description
Released in the Spring of 1972....'Exile On Main St.' was the Stones 10th studio album ....and initially it got some bum reviews. Some of the complaints were that it lacked cohesion, too long, decadent atmospherics, unbalanced audio...and on and on. It's now rightly hailed as a masterpiece and many fans consider it to be the Stones finest hour. "Let It Loose", Rip This Joint", Happy", "Stop Breaking Down"...essentially the music on this album are the Rolling Stones boiled down to their essence ...raw, honest, downhome blues electrified.
Please view ALL the pictures carefully.
Gatefold Cover: Near Mint-......the matte textured panels are just about perfect. Some minor imperfections to edges. The inner gatefold is in superb condition and has the opening pocket for the 2 Lps to the left of the right panel. Spine is solid and without wear. Would be very hard to find a vintage cover for 'Exile' in better condition.
Printed Double-Sided Inner-Sleeves: Near Mint....both sleeves are free of seam splits or stains.
12 Post Cards: Near Mint....they are all still attached and in near-perfect condition.
White Inner-Sleeves: Excellent....both record sleeves show some age-related discoloration but are free of seam splits. Two higher quality inner-sleeves will be included.
Records: Near Mint-....all 4 sides shine beautifully. Under strong light one can make out some superficial marks that were most likely created during the pressing process. I've played all 4 sides and none of them have any noticeable effect on the superb 1st press audio. All 4 labels are clean and bright. Around the Side 4 label spindle hole one can still see left over vinyl remnants ...an indication of how little this album was played. The audio is bold, detailed, and distortion-free....you won't find a better sounding copy.
