Description
A 1st pressing of E.O.M.S. on the UK Rolling Stone label. Matrix A2/B2/C1/D2. Etchings 'Rolling Stones' on both LPs. Both lps hold the antenna symbol - the hallmark of 'Artisan' the much respected mastering company in California. The vinyl comes housed in an original pocket style Shorewood packaging cover. This is the very first version of the cover without the 'TM' trademark by the stones logo on the rear. Also included are the picture card inner sleeves [square corners]. And if that weren't enough we have a complete set of 12 postcards too - all joined and with perforation intact....And it's not often you can say that!
Vinyl (Ex+/Ex+/Ex+Ex+) At the end of the day what we all want is perfection..it's not too much to ask is it?....Well, it is a lot of the time - ha! But occasionally a top-level vintage Lp drops from out of the ether and all you can do is stand back and marvel at it. This is one of those copies. It has seen only the very lightest of use. Under close inspection there are a couple of ultra-light marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Just think about it for a second...Ex+...at least..across the board..! It really is astoundingly good. Interference is just non-existent...not a hint of it. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. A lot of folk hanker after these UK 1st presses and it doesn't take a genius to figure out why. The mastering is absolutely amazing. The reproduction is just spot on through all frequencies. This is the final upgrade you've been looking for.
Cover (Ex) In superb shape and has clearly been looked after down the years. Yes, there's a touch of light ageing around the outer edge, but that really is the only criticism you could level at it. There are no tears or nasty creases. There are no marks at all inside or out and overall the box construction is perfectly intact. Edge wear is pretty light all t he way round. A really superb little specimen.
White inners (Ex) light ageing no rips. I believe one to be original and one, I suspect, has been swapped out.
Picture inners (Ex+) Perfect. No splits or markings at all.
Postcards (Ex) Just to reiterate. All 12 are present. All 12 are still joined concertina fashion. No splitting to any of the perforations. The photo is representative of all cards - except two which have a crease line running through them.
