Description

An original white label Decca pressing from the early 70's. Lots of hyperbole talked about these copies...I could entertain you all day with the various claims. One guy on E-bay at the moment claims they are 'promo' copies and is trying to charge £200..haha good luck with that! Some say they are export copies for the Scandinavian market - it's possible I guess, but I have no proof either way. My personal favourite was "Decca Records ran out of ink"!! You can just imagine the discussion... "Hey guys are we out of the blue ink yet?....hell yeah! Ok, ok, what about the green..>? All gone, sorry...What about the red, yellow, indigo..?.etc etc..Haha..you get my drift. The main thing is that they are genuine...they are early 70's..they are Decca heavy pressed and quality.. The rest, as they say, is in the 'eye of the beholder'. The vinyl comes housed in an original front-laminated cover. Also included is an original blue and white generic Decca inner from the time. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In very nice condition despite having seen a moderate level of use. Under close inspection there are a few light marks either side - nothing troublesome or that is likely to feature audibly. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback. Decca certainly did a good job with these pressings they are solid and the audio is solid too. Good clarity and the power is coming through very nicely. Interference is both minor and infrequent. All we could detect were a few crackles in a couple of isolated moments. It really is a very impressive rendition of Stones at the height of their powers. Even 'Love In Vain' plays nice and clean - and that is THE test track.
Cover (Vg) Has been looked after and remains in pretty decent condition. The front is exhibiting a few thumbnail creases over toward the opening and some light-fade in the top-left corner and the indentation of a name written in the bottom right corner. On the rear there's couple of light creases and a bit of handling wear. There's a bit of edge wear and on the spine too, but the text is still mostly legible.
Inner (Ex+) No ageing. No splits. Pretty much perfect.
