Description

An original stereo 1st press of LIB on the UK Decca label from 1969. Matrix 2W/1W - very 1st cut. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original 1st issue Upton printed cover with peep-hole and sticker on the front. Please note 1st issue covers should have the sticker showing. Although posters were reproduced throughout the 70's the sticker advertising it seems to have been particular to 1969. Also included is the original bespoke LIB inner sleeve with the 'London Back Choir' credit still showing. On later copies you will find it redacted. The only thing missing is the actual poster.
Vinyl (Ex-/Vg+) In very nice condition despite having seen a moderate level of use. Do expect a good few marks either side - none of which appear to be heavy or cause issue. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly NEAR EXCELLENT level of playback on Side 1 and then mostly VERYGOOD+ level of playback on side 2 with a couple of deviations. By and large a very nice and enjoyable rendition with not all that much to complain at. Intros and inbetweens are reasonably quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. Side 1 plays absolutely sweet - very little interference.. just a few ticks in the back half of 'Love In Vain'. The only deviations are in a few spots on side 2 where the audio isn't quite as clean as it is in other parts. The places I noticed a bit of crackle surfacing was in the quiet mid-section of 'Midnight Rambler' and sporadically in 'You Got The Silver'. Nothing that invasive and usually only for a short period.
Cover (Vg+) In very nice condition and has been looked after down the years. Nice shiny relatively clean front with nothing more than a couple of thumbnail creases. The rear fares well too with a bit of handling wear and a couple of indentations - better than you often find. Edge wear is reasonably light, but expect a few stress creases on the spine. The text on the spine seems to be all still legible. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Ex-) A bit of creasing, but not much ageing and no splits.
