This EXCELLENT & early UK 1st pressing of their second LP release dates from initial January 1965 release.

It is on the deep-grooved, unboxed red & silver Decca label: LK. 4661

Matrix numbers: XARL-6619-2A & XARL-6620-1A

Stamper codes: 1/U & 1/C

Disc weight: 146g

The disc is housed within front laminated, bi-flipback 'James Upton' printed mono cover with the uncensored text on the rear panel, which I will explain. When the first printing of the LP sleeve was issued the sleeve notes included the wording:

"...If you don't have bread, see that blind man knock him on the head, steal his wallet and low and behold you have the loot, if you put in the boot, good, another one sold!..."

This was deemed offensive and existing covers were hastily pasted-over with a version of the sleeve notes which omitted the offending text.

Complete with its original poly-lined inner-sleeve.

A vivid & vibrant set with a small collection of light spindle trails around each centre hole. Label 1 bears a small blemish where the paper has lifted slightly from the removal of a sticker.

Visual: EXCELLENT +

Superb looking playing surfaces which retain all of their 'as new' deep-gloss shine and bear no noticeable surface or marks or wear in strong daylight. Even closer examination directly beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp fails to reveals anything more than some barely visible wispy paper hairlines and a sparkling rainbow shine. Both sides of this well cared for disc lie 100% flat on the turntable when playing.

Sound Quality: EXCELLENT

Outstanding energy levels from every track on this disc which has received minimal careful play and has no significant deterioration to the sound quality or any major faults. My single careful play-check at volume detected a hint of occasional light background but both run-ins and all bands play without interference and there are no clicks, pops or any thing else to detract from an incredible listening experience.

Cover: EXCELLENT

  A highly respectable example of this fragile cover. The iconic front panel is perfectly clean and retains an excellent high-gloss finish with just a few light edge wrinkles but nothing major. There is a small bump to the lower left corner which has lifted the laminate but there is nothing wrong with the other three or either opening edge. The easily worn rear panel is perfectly clean & unblemished and free from any writing or any missing paper. Both flipbacks are clean & fully intact and the seams are smooth and unstressed. The spine, although a little squashed, is fully laminated and worded along its entire length.

Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT

Clean & flat with some light storage bends and slight age-toning, but no writing, tears or seam splits.
