The Rolling Stones - No.2 Vinyl Paste Over Cover 1A/1A 1965 LK 4661
When this was first released in '65, Loog-Oldham wrote the sleeve notes obviously influenced by A Clockwork Orange. Unfortunately he included a a reference to a blind man that was considered a little too much even for those times so Decca reprinted the cover with the reference taken out. Because they had some some uncensored covers left they created a paste over label and stuck it on them.
This album is one of those, you can still see the original text faintly underneath the paste on label.
It has a matrix number showing the earliest pressing, both sides ending in 1A.
The sleeve: It has a non-slipover laminated cover, i've tried to show in the photos where the laminate is lifting and the grubby marks on the back. Otherwise the sides and corners are fantastic, the opening has a minor bend.
The inner sleeve: Showing its age in terms of browning but no rips, tears or writing.
The vinyl: I played it through yesterday, there are no skips, jumps or pops but it has a gentle crackle throughout, nothing you wouldn't expect from a 58 year old album. It's still very shiny, really hard to take pics of without horrendous reflections. No visible scratches. The label shows some spindle marks under bright light. It's on the unboxed Decca label in wine red.
I've spent hours trawling Discogs to find an exact match but I can't.
