Original UK 1965 early pressing with red grooved label
EX (sleeve)/ EX+ (vinyl-aural) condition
A note on my approach to selling records: My aim is to take revealing photos, often in harsh light, so that you can actually see what you’ll get. I will, of course, also describe honestly what you’ll hear. Too often I have felt disappointed after buying albums on eBay because the photos didn't show enough detail and the vinyl and sleeve were over-graded. CONDITION:
Sleeve: EX
See photos. Nice and clean both sides, laminate is not worn and retains its sheen, no laminate lifting, no splits, all edges still sharp, spine is fantastic, just 2 or 3 really minor creases on the front (the most obvious one is top right of the sleeve as shown in the photo). If not for the writing on the back it would be EX+.Inner sleeve: EX
Original inner sleeve in clean and crisp condition, totally intact, no splits, has a natural crease from decades spent inside the sleeve.Labels: VG
Spindle marks - the record has obviously been played, but the labels are in otherwise great condition.
Vinyl-visual: VG
Has obviously been played. Side 1 has the surface lines you can see in the photos, but these are not scratches and there is no groove damage. Aside from these lines the vinyl retains a nice black sheen without any other significant marks. Side 2 has no marks apart from a couple of very fine superficial hairlines.
Vinyl-aural: EX+
Despite the obvious visual marks, it actually plays pretty much perfectly on both sides all the way through. You wouldn't know there were any marks! The lines on Side 1 are on the surface and cannot be heard at all. From beginning to end a full-bodied great 'wall of sound' without scratches or distortion while the grooves between tracks are quiet. No unwanted noise apart from a little crackle along the run-in grooves and one or two inconsequential one-off little clicks throughout the whole listening experience - totally enjoyable!
GRADING:
I follow Record Collector guidelines, and use Good (G or G+), Very Good (VG or VG+), Excellent (EX or EX+), and Near Mint or Mint. The majority of the records I sell range from VG+ to Near Mint, and come from my collection of over 1,500 albums and singles. I listen to them on a Rega Planar 3 turntable.
