The Rolling Stones

Rolling Stones No.2

1965 Decca LK 4661

This is an original copy of the classic second Rolling Stones LP. This is the rarest version which has the rear panel 'pasted over' with a new version following controversy over the original text which described hitting a 'blind man' over the head.

Only a few were issued like this as the design was immediately changed and only those left in the factury undistributed were 'pasted over', as also famously seen with the Beatles 'Butcher' sleeve.

The vinyl is a decent clean example and still has a nice sheen to it, there are light marks and a couple of more noticeable marks/scuffs that cannot be felt and will not affect playback. When play tested the record sounded great with loud and clear audio playback and a nice crisp and clean sound, some unobtrusive light background crackle as expected. Great stuff!

The cover is a very decent example of this rare paste-over sleeve, unfortunately the original owner has put cellotape at the top and bottom of the sleeve which has caused the usual yellowing but apart from that the paste-over rear sleeve is a very nice clean and white example with only light wear and ageing. The front of the sleeve has some light creasing and laminate lifting as usual and also the cellotape as previously mentioned and some on the opening egde. A very decent and well preserved copy.
